Fiona trailed behind the housekeeper into the living room.

Even before she stepped inside, she could hear Jane's voice echoing through the hall, arguing with someone. It was so heated that all the staff had been chased out—no one dared linger. Around here, losing your job was the least of your worries; crossing the Kidd family was much worse.
