Jane didn't say anything. She just stood there, watching Jean.

She honestly didn't know if she should trust her or not.

"Ms. Jane, you can go back first. I'll finish up here and come back later," Jean called out without turning around. She kept scrubbing the floor and wiping down the tables, going over every spot again and again. Only when everything was spotless did she finally pick up her bucket and walk away.

By then, Jane had already left the stage. She stood a little distance away, still watching Jean. Something about all of this felt off, like the world had tilted a little.

She took a deep breath, gave Jean one last look, and then turned to leave.

Back in her room, Jane told Fiona everything. Fiona barely reacted just a soft "mm" as if that was enough.

Jane frowned. Even Fiona was acting strange.

"Fiona, do you still think Jean's suspicious?"

“Shouldn't I?” Fiona shot back, her voice calm and steady.

That one question left Jane at a loss for words.

"Just go get some rest for now," Fiona said. "I'll take care of it. There's medicine on the table-bring it with you and make sure you take some. And remember what I said: don't eat or drink anything that's already been opened, even if it's something you started yourself and didn't finish."
