Fiona glanced over, frowning a little. What was Jackson still doing here this late? And how did he end up running into Jane of all people?

Jane was fiercely protective of her-there was no way she'd let Jackson just walk away, not after everything. Luckily, Tyler's call came through right then and distracted her. Fiona only half-registered the voices by the door.

"Jane, just let him go," Fiona said quietly.

Jane looked at her like she'd lost her mind, pulling Fiona aside and whispering, "Are you serious, Fiona? After how Jackson treated you, you're just letting him off? No way. I swear, I'll make him apologize."

While Jane was busy ranting, Fiona took the chance to wave Jackson off. If Jane kept going like this, she'd never let it go.

Jackson caught the signal and nearly laughed. Fiona looked like a little kid, waving her hand all frantic like that.

He didn't stick around. He slipped out fast-if he stayed any longer, people would start waking up, and then things would get messy for Fiona.
