Without missing a beat, Stephanie pulled the papers right out of her desk and slid them across the table.

“Go ahead.”

Catlin froze for a second.

Stephanie’s attitude was so clean, so crisp–like she couldn’t wait to cut all ties with the Harts.

That hit Catlin harder than she expected, and her chest tightened with anger.

Fine. She wanted to sever ties? Let her. Catlin would sign, but one day, when Stephanie came crawling back, she’d make sure she paid for it.

Blinded by fury, Catlin completely ignored the quiet power behind Stephanie.

With a shaky breath, she grabbed the pen and scrawled her name across the bottom.

The second the ink dried, Stephanie snatched the papers back, quick and sharp, like she was afraid Catlin might change her mind.

That move pissed Catlin off even more, but she swallowed it down and asked as calmly as she could, “So, when will they be back?”

She’d signed. That was the deal. This was supposed to be over.
