Chapter 122 The Devil's Romance

Kelvin, with a force unchecked, pushed Penelope aside. She stumbled backward, her footing lost, and she fell to the cold floor. The door slammed shut with a resounding echo, leaving Penelope alone. Kelvin was gone.

His expression of love was nothing short of sinister. Penelope's heart plummeted into an abyss as her fists clenched in silent defiance.

Night fell, and Kelvin walked beneath the cloak of darkness, an aura of menace clinging to him. Penelope was right again. He was a man who didn't understand love, a man who had never truly loved anyone. Once, he thought he loved Fiona, but now he realized he felt nothing for her.

However, his feelings for Penelope had deepened, slowly but surely, day by day. Kelvin had attempted to ease the tension between them, but his efforts were in vain. He was learning, he was yielding, but Penelope showed no appreciation. So, he decided to begin this affair in his own way - a devil's romance.

Kelvin adjusted his tie, a cruel, bloodthirsty smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. When he decided to truly start something with Penelope, he would stop at nothing to make her entirely dependent on him.

The following day, the sun rose slowly into the sky. Kelvin, with a cool and detached voice, commanded, "Go, bring Penelope here."

"Right away, Mr. Davis," came the obedient reply.

Sleep eluded Penelope, her mind plagued by the previous night's panic. She wasn't afraid of Kelvin's wrath; what truly terrified her was his sudden display of affection. His love was more overwhelming than his hatred! With unease churning within her, Penelope entered the dining room, "Did you want to see me?"

Kelvin, sipping his coffee with poised elegance, said, "Sit."

"I was just heading to the diner next to the office..."

"I won't ask twice."

This Kelvin reminded her of the man she first met - distant, aloof, and composed. Penelope reluctantly took a seat. The breakfast spread was lavish, the table laden with dishes, yet her appetite was nonexistent, and she ate with trepidation.

"I'm full," she said, setting down her fork.

Kelvin glanced over, "That's all you're having?"
