Chapter 203 Dr. Harry

"Dr. Cooper mentioned he needed to inject some medication with a complex name I couldn't understand," the butler continued.

"The nurse said the hospital was out of stock and we needed to borrow from another facility. Lily pushed Anthony to drive the nurse there, as it was a matter of his father's survival and urged him to show filial piety.

"Half an hour later, Anthony and the nurse returned with the medicine. Dr. Cooper administered the injection. Then, within less than five minutes, Mr. Davis Sr. started coughing blood incessantly, until... he passed away," the butler concluded his story. Penelope closed her eyes for a while.

"I see," she said. "Anthony must have tampered with the medicine!"

"It's highly possible. But... it was Dr. Cooper who specified the shot, and Anthony just fetched it. So, naturally, the blame and fault fell onto Dr. Cooper," the butler pointed out.

After listening, Penelope nodded vigorously, and said, "I understand. Thank you!"

With the butler's clue, she was one step closer to the truth!

By the time she returned to the master bedroom, the sun was rising above the horizon. Dawn had broken.

Penelope tiptoed to the bed, lay down, and pulled the covers over herself.

Her mind was full of the plan because she had entrusted it to Nathan.

She imagined her father, exonerated, stepping out of prison, a free man once again...

That day was drawing near.

Lacking any trace of sleepiness yet afraid to stir and wake Kelvin, she lay still.

By 9.00 a.m., Kelvin remained silent as stone.

'Why hadn't he woken up yet? Could it be the sleeping pill I'd slipped into his milk... maybe a tad too much? No, that couldn't be. I'd measured out a normal dose,' Penelope wondered.

"Kelvin, Kelvin?" Penelope nudged his chest. "Wake up, you're going to be late for work," she reminded him.

"Oh, got it." His voice was thick with grogginess as he took her hand.

"You've been awake?" she asked as she gasped, clearly startled.

"No, just woke up I heard you call out for me," he replied.

Kelvin wrapped his arms around her, his chin resting on the crown of her head. "Time

"I called in sick today," Penelope claimed.
