Chapter162.

Gabriel never expected she’d actually fight him.

Hazel didn’t give him any time to think. With a swift punch, she aimed straight for his face. Gabriel leaned back, grabbing her wrist to counterattack.

Gabriel, now more cautious, blocked her attack just in time. His earlier playful attitude disappeared, replaced by seriousness.

Hazel… truly wanted to disable him.

Gabriel realized this and shifted his focus, giving her more respect in their fight. They fought fiercely in the alley, exchanging dozens of blows, but still no winner.

When Hazel was a child, she was the beloved daughter of the Robinson family. Before their bankruptcy, the Robinson family wasn’t on the same level as the Campbells, but they were still a respected name in Seattle.

Hazel had been trained by the best from a young age, learning all sorts of self–defense techniques. Even after the Robinson family fell from grace, she didn’t give up. She kept training secretly, determined to protect herself and her grandmother.

If she hadn’t, those six months in the bar would’ve been enough for the wolves and vultures to tear her apart.

When she married Gabriel, she didn’t need to worry about being bullied anymore, so she never showed off her skills in front of him.

After the divorce, she ended up saving Johnson and, from him, learned a whole new set of deadly, precise moves.

Over time, she grew to enjoy them.

For the past two years, when she wasn’t caring for their daughter, Hazel had focused most of her energy on improving her own skills.

She preferred being in control of her own safety, not relying on bodyguards.

Gabriel had no idea how capable she was.

His earlier lightheartedness turned into a serious, calculated approach as he realized that she was giving everything in this fight.

Gabriel’s gaze flickered over the fierceness in her moves, shifting from defense to offense. As he blocked her kick again, he slowly started to put more force into his counter.

But then Hazel landed a solid kick to his knee, and Gabriel dropped to one knee, his dark hair disheveled.
