Sherman practically worshipped Anthea.

In his eyes, she could do no wrong-she was good at everything.

Every time something impressive happened, he'd insist it was all thanks to Anthea. No matter what it was, he'd try to give her the credit.

But that was so unfair to Rebecca.

After all, she'd once been his fiancée. How could Sherman just turn his back on all those years and act like none of it mattered?

Daniel's voice cut through the tension as he turned to Hector. "Hector, you can't let yourself get fooled by some fake video! It's obviously edited-everyone can see that! Rebecca was the one driving, not Anthea. Sherman just misunderstood her, that's all. I swear on my life, it was Rebecca behind the wheel!"

Rebecca's eyes reddened, and she spoke up, her voice trembling with hurt. "It's always the same, isn't it? The poor can't outsmart the rich, and the rich can't outmaneuver those in power. Daniel, let's just drop it. If Mr. Christensen says it wasn't me driving, then I guess it wasn't me."

Her words carried a sharp undertone.

She was hinting that Sherman was using his influence to steamroll her- snatching away the recognition that should have been hers.

Hector hesitated, uncertain whom to believe.

Chase glanced over at Rebecca. "Ms. Morris, Mr. Christensen knew you'd say that, so he had the training car brought over just for you. If you really were the one driving in the video, why not show us your skills right here and now?"

As he finished, Chase placed the car keys on the table.
