Chapter 170

Allison swung by a local diner for a quick bite before heading back to her apartment complex. As the clock ticked past ten, she felt the lateness of the hour. She parked her car and hit the elevator button, riding up to her floor.

She unlocked the door with her fingerprint, and just as she was about to step inside her apartment, someone called out her name.

"Allison."

Shawn stood under the hallway lights, dressed sharply in a charcoal overcoat. His features were striking and handsome, with a hint of a sly smile.

He definitely knew how to make an entrance.

Allison's brow furrowed at his unexpected appearance. “Shawn, what are you doing here?"

Shawn dodged her question with one of his own. "Where've you been today? Why did you come home so late?"

Allison shot him a look. "Why do you care?"

Shawn shrugged casually. “Just looking out for you."
