Chapter 283

The night before.

Javier's call came through to the Fisher family.

"Is Allie's disappearance linked to your family's black sheep?" Javier asked, barely keeping his anger in check.

Ben's face tightened. "What? Allie's missing? Have you called the police yet?"

"The cops were the ones who called me to confirm she's missing. We've tried her number countless times, but it just rings dead. Her aunt and I have combed through her apartment and her office, but she's vanished into thin air."

Javier's voice was filled with frustration. "And Joshua? What's he doing? Allie's gone missing, and he's not out there searching for her?"

"We just heard about this ourselves. Joshua is likely swamped with work and hasn't caught wind of it yet. I'll let him know right away. Try not to worry, Allie will turn up. Maybe her phone just died, and she'll get back to us once it's charged," Ben attempted to calm him.

"Phone dead? That's a stretch. Her aunt and I have been searching all night and haven't found a single clue. It's easy for you to talk when it's not your kid who's gone missing!"

Ben replied, "Javier, take a deep breath."

"Take a deep breath? How can I do that?" Javier's voice rose, "If Joshua disappeared out of the blue, would you be able to stay calm?"
