Chapter 356

Joshua strolled out of the bathroom, his robe hanging loosely enough to show off his well-toned chest, droplets of water still clinging to the tips of his hair. As he glanced at his phone, his typically calm expression quickly clouded over.

"Well, Watson, you crafty devil," Joshua mused. "Using a child to get close to Allie? How did I not see through your sly nature before?" His dark eyes glinted coldly. "I guess you're not giving up until you hit a wall."

Joshua pressed his lips together in a thin line, ignoring George's message, and instead dialed Lizzy's doctor. This doctor was someone Joshua personally flew in from overseas, and he trusted him implicitly. Whatever Joshua asked, he got straight answers.

After checking in on Lizzy's health, Joshua also got the scoop on her likes and dislikes. Once he hung up, he immediately phoned his assistant.

The next day, Joshua showed up at the Fisher house, arms loaded with gifts. "I'm here to see Lizzy," he announced.

The Fisher staff started hauling the boxes inside, one by one. "These are for Lizzy," Joshua explained. "After all, she's in this mess because of us, the Fisher family..."

"Thanks," Allison replied, her voice as cool as a winter breeze.

Joshua pressed on, "How's Lizzy doing these days?" He already had the lowdown from the doctor last night, but he was itching to keep the conversation going with Allison.
