Chapter 387

Chapter 387

Allison lay in bed, tossing and turning, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. Eventually, she picked up her phone and shot Joshua a quick text.

"Thinking of you."

She stared at the screen, waiting, but nothing came back.

Was he asleep? Or caught up in the Fisher family chaos?

Allison let out a deep sigh, feeling a heavy weight settle in her chest. She wouldn't say it out loud, but she knew she hadn't completely moved on from Joshua. Given everything happening with his family, her worries for him only grew.

He must be feeling so lost.

It was almost dawn by the time sleep finally tugged at her eyelids. Just as she was drifting off, her phone screen lit up.

Joshua had replied.

"I'm okay, try to get some rest."

Allison read the message, but her concern didn't ease one bit.

How could he be okay? He'd just lost his dad and grandma.

She wanted to say something comforting.

Rubbing her eyes to wake herself up a bit more, she typed.
