Chapter 43
Victor beamed smugly upon seeing the black Bentley ahead.
Victor couldn’t forget Clayton had left him with the expensive bill for the meal with Isabella, so he held onto his resentment.
Despite Isabella’s slender frame, she ate almost as much as Victor and Clayton. Victor was determined to ensure Clayton would be the one treating him in the future.
Clayton had turned down Victor’s invitations for meals for three consecutive days. The former even refused to have lunch together.
Victor had visited Rayson International and was determined to locate Clayton, but the latter was nowhere to be found.
During the inquiry, Kayson revealed Clayton had not had lunch at the office lately.
Victor’s instincts prompted him to make an effort to locate Moonlight Apartment.
Although Victor was suspicious about Clayton’s whereabouts, seeing his car confirmed his presence.
Isabella prepared a lavish lunch that afternoon to compensate for being unable to cook for Clayton in the upcoming week.
Throughout the morning, she diligently stocked the fridge with ravioli and gnocchi for future convenience.
She had seized a special price at the supermarket that day and bought a lot of chicken wings. By noon, she had prepared them. One portion was sautéed, and the other was cooked with hot sauce. She wanted to find out which flavor Clayton preferred for future reference.
Additionally, she cooked Clayton’s favorite pork ribs and meatballs. She also added roasted broccoli, which she knew he would love.
The day before, Clayton arranged for a new computer to be installed in the study and gifted her a new laptop, recognizing her old one was outdated. She was delighted by those thoughtful gestures and reciprocated by preparing the meal.
As the doorbell rang, Isabella went t
to answer it.
Clayton had been displaying dramatic behavior lately, choosing to ring the bell instead of opening the door himself. If she didn’t respond promptly, he would persistently ring the bell until she did.
Although she found his childish antics amusing, she accepted them, unable to stop him.
When Clayton entered the house, he embraced her passionately, followed by a long, breathtaking kiss. He then chucked in her ear and playfully said, “Call me “Honey“”
Isabella leaned into his arms and let out a soft
“I’ll keep kissing, you until you say it,” he teased, attempting to kiss her again.
Isabella leaned against his chest, turning her head away. “Honey, let’s eat,” she said, her cheeks flushed, giving her a cute appearance.
Satisfied, Clayton stopped teasing her, recognizing her shyness in that aspect.
He held her and led her to the dining table. His eyes lit up as he saw the food spread before them.

“You’re so capable, Mrs. Murray,” he praised, kissing her cheek,
Isabella pushed his head away, her cheeks blushing once again. “Go wash your hands!” she ordered.
Clayton followed suit.
Isabella was surprised when the doorbell rang again. She quickly glanced toward the bathroom before opening the door
Victor stood there with a smug expression.
Before Isabella could respond, he entered and was immediately amazed by the feast on the table.
Clayton came out of the bathroom, he saw Victor looking at the food.
Simultaneously, they rushed to the table from different directions.
The two affluent and sophisticated men, accustomed to various delicacies, briefly acted like children in their enthusiasm for homemade
food.
While Clayton had one chicken wing in his mouth, he held another in his hand and speared a third with his fork. Victor imitated his actions, leaving Isabella standing across the table, totally dumbfounded.
Victor ate elegantly, while Clayton ate at the same pace, unconcerned about his image.
Neither of them spoke, absorbed in their pursuit of food.
