Chapter 63

“Channing, call Clayton and ask him to come back,” Jennie urged.

Channing leaned against the couch and said, “Nah, do it yourself”

“Just do as you’re told, brat!” Calvin showed off his authority over Channing.

Jennie was displeased, as Calvin dared not to make the call himself and delegated it to Channing instead..

Still, she persuaded, “Why are you giving him a hard time? He’s like a mouse encountering a cat when he sees Clayton.”

Calvin glared at Channing. “How useless!”

Jennie secretly sneered before saying with a smile, “Enough. Go wash up and have breakfast.”

Calvin descended the steps and went to change his clothes with a sullen face.

Jennie asked the three children, “It’s your day off. What’s your plan?”

Channing replied, “I’m going to sleep after eating. Don’t wake me up no matter what happened.” He got up and walked to the dining room

after that.

Mandy, on the other hand, sat beside Jennie and held the latter’s arm. “Mom, let’s go shopping together and buy us some more clothes.”

Jennie let Mandy hold her as she responded, “I’ve no problem with that. But you have to promise me that you won’t go to Rayson International in the future, nor will you bother Clayton.”

“Sure! You’ve said that a thousand times, Mom. Remember, the more you nag, the older you get,” Mandy promised as she leaped from her

seat and ran to the dining room.

“I’ve told you many times, but you never listen.” Jennie shook her head and sighed.

As she dragged Queenie up from the seat and walked toward the dining room, she deliberately stepped back and asked, “What happened when you girls went to Rayson International?”

Queenie whispered, “The receptionist said no one could see Clayton without an appointment. Mandy made a scene and broke an ornament but still failed to see Clayton. I heard that Clayton seems to be not in Moulmore recently.”

Jennie didn’t respond and thought, ‘No one can see you without an appointment, huh, Clayton? How about your dad, then?”

Shortly after, Calvin, who had dressed up, went downstairs and looked at the crowd at the dining table. “Let’s visit the Maguire manor tomorrow. We’ve been here for some time. It’s time to visit Mr. Maguire.”

A thought flashed across Jennie’s mind. With a smile, she agreed, “Sure. Let’s take the children there.”

Calvin nodded.

It was already ten o’clock at night when Isabella finally got through to Gwendolyn.

“Gwen, you finally answered the phone. I’m so worried,” Isabella breathed a sigh of relief.

“Don’t mention that jerk’s name, Isabella,” Gwendolyn warned angrily.

“All right. I won’t mention it. Are you okay?” isabella hurriedly comforted her.
