Drake wanted to argue, but Debra simply wrapped her arm around Marion's neck and waved him goodbye.

Downstairs, Liza glanced at Cathryn's body. Her former friend was now disfigured and lifeless. After a moment of hesitation, she tore off the black veil from her dress and went over to cover Cathryn's face.

She had once considered Cathryn her only true friend, but Cathryn had never cared about her.

Liza couldn't help but feel sorrow, but there was no point in holding onto resentment. She wiped her tears and followed the others out of the venue.
