Ledger York trembled.
"This is a misunderstanding! That’s it!
“I’ve always been honest with you!
"Welt doesn’t know what’s good for him! He's siding with Adenar Temple to go against you!
‘Til give you an explanation for this!”
Bam!
Harvey York kicked Ledger to the side before coming to Mandy Zimmer’s side and giving her water.
At the same time, he placed his hand on Mandy’s wrist to circulate her blood.
"What happened here, Mandy?” he whispered when Mandy was mostly recovered.
"Weren't you supposed to head back to Wolsing?
“How did you get yourself in this situation?”

Mandy thought of what had happened. She had been cautious already but did not expect her bodyguards to be completely outmatched either.
She was cursed without even realizing that.
"I was naive.”
Mandy took a deep breath before describing the situation.
"Welt asked to see me.
“He said there's a way for me to obtain the Eyed Bead I sought for.
"Then again, he wanted to strike a deal with me.
"After seeing his serious look, I thought about it for a moment before deciding to come take a look.
"As soon as I came, Welt said that he wanted to introduce me to a person named stinger.
“He told me once Stinger’s happy enough; he’d get all of the Nine Eyed Beads for me, let alone one.
"After sensing something was wrong, I quickly thought of an excuse to leave. I didn't realize stinger used some sort of magic to heat up my entire body.
"I managed to escape by saying I needed to use the restroom. That was how I stumbled into the courtyard."
Mandy seemed fearful.
"You stumbled your way here?”
Harvey glared at Ledger, who was completely paralyzed on the ground.
"This probably isn't just some coincidence.
"The master of the York family here must’ve planned everything through with Welt.
“Not only are they trying to test the strength of both me and the sects...
"They're also planning to reap the rewards for pitting me against the sects.
“It’s a shame that their plan failed.”
Harvey’s gaze toward Ledger became much colder.
