Chapter 6108
Amos gestured for Elaine to sit beside him, then picked up a glass of wine after feeling the sweet and tender body of his woman.
“Speak your mind. We’ve been together for a long time now," he said while swirling his glass around. “I can tell by the look on your face."
Elaine pressed her finger on Amos’s lips, smiling.
‘Til tell you, but I do hope you won't get mad after hearing this."
Amos slowed down his breathing. “What can even shake me at this point?”
Elaine hesitated for a moment. “Evermore sent Tojuro to assassinate Stefan."
Amos froze before he came to his senses. “He’s dead?"
“No.-
Elaine's face darkened.

“Great Wall Vaati was stalled, and Stefan’s subordinates were mostly killed... But he's still alive. Tojuro's plan failed.”
“He's that impressive?"
Amos set his glass down, frowning; he didn’t think Stefan would be this resilient.
Elaine shook her head.
“His subordinates wouldn't have ended up this way if that was the case.
“Harvey saved him at the most crucial moment.
“We don’t know what happened exactly, but Evermore would have to pay a huge price after that.”
Despite her emotions, Elaine seemed like she was talking about someone that didn’t concern her.
After all, Evermore’s failed plan was enough to show just how strong Harvey was.
“Great!"
Amos’s gentle look on his face was instantly replaced by rage; he kicked the coffee table in front of him.
“Does he think he’s a world-class detective or something?
“Why does he feel the need to butt in on everything?
“He saved Stefan? Doesn’t he know that he’s going against me right now? Bastard!"
Amos’s face was fully red; he spent most of his efforts to calm down before sitting down again.
“He thinks he has me under control? I'll just..."
Amos paused; he knew there were some things that weren't supposed to be said out loud.
