Eiden Jackson burst into laughter after hearing Mandy Zimmer's remarks.
"I was just kidding! You're being too serious!

Mandy immediately cut Eiden off.

“According to the deal, you were supposed to get the license after taking three million dollars as intermediary fee.
"What’s going on here?" Harvey frowned at the shady-looking man before him.
“Sir York, this is the intermediary Ms. Mandy spoke about, Mr. Eiden.
“It’s said he has a deep history with Wolsing’s marketplace.
He has an immense reputation and connections with prominent figures and top-rated families.

“If we want our pre-sale license, we must go through him.
"The license was priced at 7.3 million initially, but after a few rounds of negotiations, we finally agreed on three million.
"For the past few weeks, we’ve been complying with his demands and gathered a lot of documents, but the request has been constantly pulled back.
"There’d be a problem every single time.
"This morning, he even came personally, saying that we were missing seven hundred and thirty thousand dollars in our account."
Harvey frowned.
"Wouldn’t everything be fixed after getting more money? He didn't come here just for that, did he?"
Maya bitterly chuckled before signaling Harvey to look over.

Eiden sized up Mandy with a wretched look before heaving a long sigh.
“Are you asking me to take responsibility, Ms. Mandy?
"I haven't even said anything to you yet. Your assumptions might not be good for our negotiations later, you know..."
Mandy frowned.
“Negotiations? Based on our agreement, we pay the money, and you do the work. What’s there to even talk about?"

A lawyer behind Eiden pulled out a contract before highlighting the contents inside.
“According to our deal, the Candid Intermediary would support you in getting the license.
"But your company would take responsibility for some of the tasks as well, including the preparation of documents as well as fifteen million dollars.
“I’ve been working on this for a long time, but I discovered the account lost seven hundred and thirty thousand just this morning!
