After a long moment of silence, Mabon finally sighed and said, "You're not planning to give me a way out of this, Mr.
Jesse. I've already provided a statement according to what I've seen. I believe you'll all be very happy with this statement.
"I've done everything I can, but now you're asking me to go to persuade the Thompsons? I don't think I can do that,"
Mabon said in a way that made him look powerless. "You can't force me to do the impossible."
Jesse said, "I know what you're thinking. You think I'm ignoring the law just so I can help my sister. The truth is, you should have a basic understanding of who's right and who's wrong. Using that as a guide, I don't think there's anything wrong with my judgment today.
"Don't tell me you don't know what the situation is like right now. Wolsing can't fall into further chaos because of what happened recently. Not to mention, if the Thompsons go all out and fight Harvey until the end... I can tell you the ones who will lose won't be Harvey.

"I'm not asking you to go to the Thompsons to be ridiculed.
I'm giving you a chance to make some goodwill with the Thompsons. This will only benefit you. Even if they refuse to accept it after you did your best, you won't lose anything substantial, correct?'
Mabon raised his eyebrow. While he didn't believe in fighting until the very end or what Jesse said about Harvey not going to be the one to lose, Jesse's attitude regarding this incident made him very uneasy.
Just what kind of power did Harvey possess? What was his identity? Who were his backers?Just who exactly was he?
Not only could Harvey make Yvonne his secretary, but even Jesse was also trying to help him without being entirely obvious about it. Something didn't make sense.
Mabon took in a deep breath as the thought crossed his mind, and said, "I'll do my best to give them the message."
"Good. I believe you can convince them,"Jesse said. He stood up and patted Mabon on the shoulder. "There's going to be a huge change in Wolsing soon. Even the Wrights won't be able to keep to themselves this time. I hope you can use this chance to rise."
Jesse didn't give Mabon another look after that, and simply walked out of the presidential suite calmly.
Mabon turned and looked at Jesse leaving, his expression one of thoughtfulness. Jesse had been giving hints again and again that something was going to happen in Wolsing.
Could that change affect the status of the top ten families?
What kind of role would Harvey be playing in that?
Jesse ignored Mabon, and headed to the main hall.
