Chapter 2909 Dinner time, at the Three Seasons Hotel rooftop garden. Harvey York had already prepared a lavish Hong Kong – style afternoon tea to welcome Toby Clarke, who was showing an extremely gloomy face at that moment. “Governor Clarke, a capable man can yield when needed, but your actions have shocked everyone here. Obviously , Harvey already knew about everything that transpired in the Leo family’s villa.
Harvey had figured that something like this would happen.
Jason Leo would never return to his country out of respect for Toby. As for Jason’s three conditions, Harvey did not deem those demands were too outrageous.
Those were clearly Jason’s reasons for coming back this time. If he could accomplish his goals without a drop of blood spilled, he would hold back regardless of his murderous intent.
“Don’t you know that outsiders keep calling us the Slave Family?”
After getting a change of clothes, Toby showed a faint smile.

“Before I returned, I was The Empire’s servants. I served in Country H’s royal court after that. “People like me follow what’s best for myself.
“I’ll bow to whoever, whenever I need to. This is nothing to me.
“Since I currently belong to the royal court, if I have a chance to fight for the country’s peace, so what if I have to kneel and get slapped in the face?
“I did my best. I don’t have any regrets.
“It’s a shame that I overestimated my reputation. Not only did I not entirely resolve the situation, I even made these people a lot more cocky in the process.”
Toby then poured himself a cup of Black Tea before taking a sip with a calm look on his face, as if he was not the one who had given in to The Empire’s people earlier.
Harvey squinted at Toby. He knew that other than trying to regain peace, the man in front of him wanted to show the higher-ups what he was capable of by kneeling. No matter what happened next, there was no way that Country H’s royal court would even consider replacing him.
If they took Toby off his position, the Clarke family would
be destroyed in the chaos…
Harvey had already seen through Toby’s intent.
