Before she could finish, Jason let out a horrible scream. Blood began dripping from his head, splattering onto Caroline before his body collapsed to the ground with a thud.

Sam froze in terror, spinning around. “Who… who are you?” he stuttered.

A low, commanding voice, cold as ice, answered. “I’m her husband.”

“David!” Sam cried out, but his words were cut short as a hand gripped his throat.

In an instant, he was hurled several feet across the room, crashing into the wall before collapsing to the floor. Blood dripped from his mouth, and he lay there, limp and unmoving.

Caroline stared in shock, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
