Chapter 437

Hayden's biggest mistake was always believing that even if Bobby and Hazel did something wrong, they would immediately repent the moment they realized their mistake.

When Hazel and Bobby had mentioned that they didn't want Lily to be alone in the hospital and wanted to celebrate Christmas together, Hayden had softened at the thought of how harmonious their family used to be when there had been no conflicts.

He longed for Lily to receive fair treatment and warmth from their parents even more than she herself did.

Lily had tried once or twice not to shatter Hayden's naive perception, but after three or four attempts, she realized that even when Hayden saw the truth, he still clung to his illusions. So she no longer knew how to convince him to turn back before it was too late.

"Lily, give them another chance. There's no parent in the world who doesn't love their kids. They might just be a bit extreme in how they handle things," Hayden said, instinctively making excuses for Hazel and Bobby.

"Since you've already arranged everything, let's not argue," Lily replied, not wanting to start a fight.

Time would eventually show Hayden whether there truly were parents who didn't love their children and whether Bobby and Hazel were merely "extreme" in their actions.

Within half an hour, Hazel arrived first. Carrying a thermal food container, she smiled at Hayden as she entered before walking over to Lily.
