Turning around, Angeline was about to leave when she felt a pair of chubby hands hugging her thigh. Shortly after, a little girl’s giggles could be heard from behind.

“Angel, you couldn’t find me just now, right?”

Angeline gazed in the direction of the child’s voice. Wearing a pink dress and sporting two pigtails, Floretta looked awfully cute.

“What brings you here, Floretta?” Angeline asked delightfully as she squatted down to talk to Floretta at eye level. “Have you been discharged?”

“The nurse said I can be discharged, but I still have to take my medications on time.”

Floretta blinked her dark, large eyes as she continued in her melodious voice, “Angel, I asked Daddy to bring me here to see you because I heard you finish filming today.”

Angeline’s heart skipped a beat. “Your Daddy is here?”

Pointing at a car nearby, Floretta replied obediently, “Yes, he’s right there.”

They watched as the car door opened, and a pair of shiny leather shoes landed on the ground. Then, Evander emerged from the car in a black suit.

Although he was wearing a pair of sunglasses that shielded half of his face, his exquisite jawline was exposed.

As he steadily walked in Angeline’s direction, she stared at him in a daze.

She sighed, lamenting that although he was cold, his looks were enough to send girls fangirling over him.

“Angel, you have been staring at my daddy for a while now,” Floretta whispered in Angeline’s ear as a reminder.

Instantly, Angeline was brought back to reality. As she coughed awkwardly, her rosy cheeks turned a deep shade of red.

“I wasn’t staring at him. I was looking at his… cufflinks!” Chuckling nervously, she continued, “They look nice. Where did you buy them?”

Fearing that she might give away her thoughts, Angeline did not dare to look up and make eye contact with Evander. Instead, she fixated her gaze on his cufflinks.
