On the old A4 paper were several forensic photos. After the car crash, Angeline’s parents were turned into a mass of bleeding flesh, lying in a pool of blood.

There were a few wide shots that showed many passersby with umbrellas surrounding the scene.

The sight made Angeline’s heart wrenched. She bit her lip hard, and tears began escaping her eyes.

Mom had always cared about appearances when she was still alive. Every time she accompanied Dad to an event, she would always ensure she looked the best in front of the cameras. Even if she only had afternoon tea in the garden, she would also make sure she looked decent. Yet, her face had become hideously bloody after the car crash. She must have been heartbroken to see so many people surrounding her when she was still on the brink of her death.

“Ms. Sorelle,” Jasper, lightly tapping the table with his finger, called out to her. “I’m sorry for your loss, but the dead can’t be resurrected. Please take a sip of water and calm down.”

“Thank you.” Angeline lowered her gaze to hide her pain. Her hands holding the glass trembled, and several drops of hot water splashed on the back of her hands.

Staring at her, Jasper felt sorry and sighed.

“Originally, these archives were not supposed to be disclosed to outsiders. But since you are the person Mr. Golding entrusted, we have made the exception for you.”

“I understand. I’ll investigate this matter discreetly and not get you into trouble.”

Angeline was much calmer after taking a sip of water. She took a deep breath and continued to go through the documents.

The car accident happened at Okolow Bridge in Hallsbay. Her parents were in a Maybach when a truck crashed into them. Due to the limited space on the bridge, the truck slammed directly into the sea after the collision.

The bonnet of her parents’ Maybach was severely damaged from the impact. From a photo of the car mirror shards, Angeline was surprised when she saw that the man knocked unconscious in the driver’s seat was not her father.

Noticing something was off, she quickly looked up and asked, “Officer, was there a third person in my parents’ car?”

Jasper frowned as he gave her question some thought before answering, “I think so. I didn’t go to collect evidence at the scene back then, but my colleagues did mention that only the driver survived the accident. I heard that he fell into a coma after the accident and has yet to regain consciousness.”
