Chapter 38 Do Not Torture Yourself This Way Anymore

Yelena was right about one thing - she might really be mentally ill.

Kallum came back to the scene of her sewing herself up, and the anesthesia in his hands was pointless now.

He could tell that Calista was in pain, because every time the needle pierced her skin, she would purse her lips together tightly. Then when the blood stained thread came out from the other side, her body would shiver a little. She could feel everything, but she was able to tolerate pain without making a single sound.

This new knowledge made Kallum feel strangely uncomfortable. Calista was never like this. She was strong willed yet fragile, stubborn yet weak, but now she had completely gotten rid of her weak side, and now she was just obstinate! All this happened after that one fateful night. What was the story behind her body full of cuts and bruises that made her change so drastically?

If he had given her more attention, perhaps he would have noticed that there was something wrong with her earlier, and then she might not have become so extreme.

When he thought about this, he felt his heart ache, and felt that it was too kind a punishment to sentence those two scoundrels to life imprisonment!

"If it really hurts, inject some anesthesia!"

He tried to pass her the syringe because he couldn't bear to see her in pain.

Calista's forehead was covered in a thin layer of sweat from the pain, and her eyes were all teary. When she looked up at him, Kallum felt like he couldn't breathe.

"No need."

Perhaps it was because she was in great pain and thus feeling happier, she wasn't so irritated by Kallum anymore. She was especially curious about the guilt and frustration in his eyes.

She continued sewing and Kallum couldn't force her to use anesthesia. He could only stand by the side and watch her pierce the skin around the wound again and again, and for a moment, he felt that every needle was piercing his own skin.

Finally she let out a whimper through her pursed lips, and Kallum couldn't stand it anymore. He stuck his arm in front of her and said coldly, "Don't endure the pain anymore. If you feel pain, just bite me!"

He just didn't want her to continue torturing herself like that!

Calista scoffed as she looked up at him, her teary sparkling eyes reflecting her laughter. "If you're afraid that I'm in pain, then kiss me!"
