Lora furrowed her eyebrows, looking down at the man sleeping on the bed, flanked by the twins on either side. Hours earlier, she had agreed to her daughter's request, her pleading eyes making it difficult for her to refuse her. Although Lora knew Ryan was exaggerating, the weariness in his eyes told her there was something she was missing.

Why did he look so tired and worn out? And was it just in her mind or he had lost weight?

Lora had noticed that Ryan's skin had become pale after the accident. She didn't know if it was because he lost a lot of blood or if there was something wrong with him. Could his injuries be more serious than he let on?

When they returned, Ryan played with the kids and listened to their stories. However, he immediately fell asleep after having dinner.

It was strange because Ryan wasn't an early sleeper. The kids had asked if they could sleep with their father and seeing them look so comfortable with him warmed her heart.

Lora's phone suddenly rang and she quickly left the guest room to pick it up.

She smiled when she saw that it was Charles Kingsley, Ryan's grandfather.

"Hello, Grandpa," she said on the phone.

"Hello, Lora. Is Ryan still with you? I'm worried about him," Charles replied.

"He's here... there was a small problem and he felt sick so he spent the night here last night," Lora replied, feeling guilty about what her father did.

"Really? Is he sleeping there tonight too?" Charles asked, his voice laced with excitement.

"I'll tell him to return home imme-"

"I'm not around, dear, so there's no one to take care of him. Since he's already there, just keep him. In fact, he's too old to live with his parents. I've chased him out of the house. You can keep him!" Charles exclaimed. "Grandpa-"

"Yes? Are you calling for me? Ok, I'm coming! Let me just end this call," Charles yelled to someone on the other side of the phone. He then spoke to Lora, "Lora, I'm very busy right now. I'll leave my grandson in your hands. Make sure you take care of him... if it's possible, don't bring him back!"

Lora, "...."

When the call cut, Lora shook her head and chuckled. She glanced back at the door and sighed. Ryan had already fallen asleep anyway... he could just leave the next day. Besides, the kids were happy to have him around.
