Chapter 66 Condemnation

As soon as Elspeth woke up, she found Callum sitting beside the bed. It seemed as if he had been waiting for a long time.

“What are you doing here?”

She recalled being on the verge of freezing to death in the chiller. How did I make it out alive?

“Were you the one who saved me?”

“You’ve just woken up, so you should take it easy. Rest up.” It was difficult to detect what he felt from his tone. He poured a glass of water and handed it to her. “The doctor said you should stay in bed for the next few days. Call me if you need anything. Although he sounded stern and reprimanding, he did save Elspeth, so her resistance toward him eased a fair bit. Thus, she did not argue with him and drank the water with a nod.
