Chapter 97. The girl in his dreams
“Mommy.” Ace cried out while hugging her neck tightly. Athena let out a sigh as she hugged him back, close to her heart.
“Ace, my baby!” She whispered out while caressing his back lovingly.
Patricia brought him to the hospital after he started crying for uncountable times, demanding for his mommy and papa. Athena walked out of the room and entered a small empty room with Ace in her arms.
She didn’t want him to make Dominic’s room more stressful than she already did. And their friends gave them privacy by not following them. They understood that Athena and Ace needed a mother and son bonding time.
“Mommy… Mommy, are you okay? Are you hurt? Did you cry?” Ace pulled back from the hug while looking at her with teary eyes. H e was caressing her face with his small hands, making her smile at the sweet and cute gesture of her son.
“Oh, my baby. Calm down. Mommy is absolutely alright. See, mommy got no hurt. Mommy didn’t cry as well, my love.” She said while cupping his face and kissed all over his face. She expected him to giggle just like he usually does. But instead of doing that, h e caught a hold of her face and looked at her with a cute frown.
“Your pretty eyes are wet…” He said while wiping a drop of tears which rolled down her cheeks as soon as she heard her baby.
“Aw, they are? Don’t worry, I just…washed my face. They are water. Mommy didn’t cry, I promise.” She said while kissing his little hands.
How smart her precious little son was!
“But I was scared. I thought you were hurt.” He whimpered as he remembered something and hugged her again, making her worry. She hugged him again with a small sigh.
She will never be able to understand how her little son always finds out whenever she is hurt. Just how?! There’s no way for him to know because everyone around him always stays very careful so that he doesn’t know. Yet, somehow he always does.
“Why would you think so, baby?” She asked while brushing off the thought and asked in a casual tone while thinking how she was going to convince him that she wasn’t hurt.
“Because I had a dream…” He whispered out while still hugging her. His words made her frown a little. She pulled him back from the hug softly and looked at him with a small frown.
“A dream?” She asked with her eyebrows raised a little. She didn’t want him to think that it was something bad and get scared from sharing it with her.
“Yes…” He nodded with a cute yet serious look on her face.
“What did you see in the dream?” She asked while trying not to sound very curious.
“I saw that you were in pain and crying. I was scared, mommy.” He said in a trembling voice. His lips quivered as he talked. She could see that he was relieving the dream and was getting scared.
“Shh..Don’t cry, baby. See, mommy is okay. Absolutely fine. Mommy is not hurt at all.” She said in an assuring tone while hugging him again.
She felt guilty for not going to him first. How scared he was! Gosh, she felt guilty now! But the mate bond, that was as strong as her motherly instinct.
She was stuck in between
“But papa is, isn’t he?” Ace suddenly asked in a trembling tone, catching her off guard once again.
But this time it wasn’t only for him calling Dominic papa. It was because of how confident he sounded while saying that Dominic was hurt. What was she going to tell him? She would feel very guilty in lying to him once again.
“Papa. he he is fi…” She stammered while thinking of ways to avoid this question.
“I saw in the dream that he was hurt as well.” He spoke up in a low tone, feeling very sad. She looked at him with a frown once again
“Wh…what did you see about him, Ace? Tell mommy” She asked, she couldn’t hide her curiosity this time.
The fact that her son had a dream about both of them was a little bit odd. Not a little bit but a lot more odd.
“I saw that papa was hurt. Someone hurt him. He was in a lot of pain. He was crying, mommy. Papa was crying.” He couldn’t continue his act of acting strong. He cried like the baby he was. Big fat tears rolled down his eyes, making her feel really bad.
“Shh Ace, stop crying, my love shh papa is okay now. Trust me, papa is going to be alright soon. Please stop crying “She said while rocking him back and forth She was really worried now. He was hardly three and already seeing such dreams, what was that supposed to mean? Also, she was scared that he was going to get sick if he continued to cry so much. She needed him to calm down

“Papa is hurt?” He asked while looking at her and wiping away the tears slowly she couldn’t lie while looking him in the eyes. She gulped down her pain and slowly nodded at him
“Yes papa is hurt a little. You know how strong your papa is, right? He is your superhero, right?” She asked with a small smile, ready to coax him into her words.
“No, he is my papa. ” He suddenly exclaimed in a stubborn tone while looking at her with a cute frown. She looked at him with raised eyebrows and an amused smile.
He just keeps surprising her. The look of anger and possessiveness was so similar to Dominic. The thought made her chest fill with pride. She chuckled a little and nodded at him approvingly.
“Okay, yes.. he is your papa but he is your superhero as well, right?” She asked with a small smile. She wasn’t going to raise the topic about Dominic being his father until he calms down
“Yes.” He mumbled with a small nod, looking at his mommy with concentration
“Aren’t superheroes very strong?” She asked slowly and he frowned a little as he was trying to understand what his mommy was trying to say
“Yes” He nodded once again
“Do they get hurt?” She asked once again, very close to prove his points.
“Exactly, my smart boy. Papa will get well soon as well. You just need to pay for him Can you do that?” She asked with a beautiful smile which he can never deny. He was happy to hear her words.
“Yes, I will pray a lot for him.” He exclaimed while clapping his hands. He was happy to pray for his papa.
“That’s my baby! Give me a hug and a kissie!” She said with a grin while forwarding her face toward him for him to fulfil her demand. He immediately hugged her after giving her a kiss on the cheek. He pulled back from the hug and looked at her with a small pout
“I want to see papa, mommy” He demanded while giving her puppy dog eyes which she couldn’t deny.
“You want to see papa? Of course, you will see papa! We both will see papa. But before that, you have to tell mommy something.” She said with a small smile and he eagerly nodded, ready to do anything to meet his papa.
“Okay, mommy.” He quickly agreed.
“Do you know that your superhero is your papa?” She asked while looking at him carefully to note down everything that shows on his face
“Yes, mommy “He replied with a grin
“From when do you know that?” She asked with a small frown
“I have known that for a long time, mommy. But I don’t remember’ He replied while looking thoughtful but quickly shrugged his shoulders, not willing to work hard in remembering for his mommy. She frowned deeply after hearing him
Was his son turning three or thirteen? Why does he talk like an adult? He badly needs friends of his age instead of hanging out with Nathan and Justin
“Did you call him a superhero even after knowing that he is your papa?” She asked with a raised eyebrow
“Yes, mommy” He nodded his head with a triumphant look on his face, making her look at him in shock
“Why?” She asked, unable to hold the shock in her
‘I wanted you to surprise me Also, I didn’t want to make you sad. You fight a lot with papa.” He replied with a pout, making her look at him with a look of disbelief
This kid kept giving her shocks after shock Her head was spinning already
“Oh I am sorry, baby. For not giving you the surprise earlier and fighting with papa I promise not to fight with your papa anymore.” She replied, getting a little sad remembering she won’t be able to fight him now even though she wanted to
“Yay! You are the best mommy!” He immediately got happy hearing her and hugged her in happiness. She smiled seeing him so happy
“And you are the best baby in the world! She exclaimed back before giving him a kiss as well. But she pulled back after a few seconds and looked at him “Umm, Ace? She called him casually
“Yes, mommy?” He immediately replied, he stopped crying long ago
“Who told you that your superhero is your papa?” She asked with a look of confusion. She was going to beat Nathan and Just in if they were the one to leak this because she wanted to do the work
“No one told me ” He replied with a frown while trying to remember something
“What do you mean, baby? Then how did you know?” She asked with a frown because she knew he wasn’t lying If no one told him then how did he know?
“I don’t know I just know ” He replied with a small shrug of his shoulder, making her frown
“Huh?” She exclaimed in pure confusion trying to make sense of his words
“Oh, I remember!” He suddenly exclaimed, making her look at him with a raised eyebrow
“What, Ace?”
“I had a dream!” He exclaimed with widened eyes, making her frown
Dream? Again?
“A dream? You mean you saw that your super hero is your papa in a dream7* She asked with a frown, while questioning herself if she was being a stupid by asking him these questions After all, he was just a little child
“Yes, mommy?” He exclaimed suddenly sounding really excited which confused her a lot
“What did you see in the dream 7” She asked while letting out a sigh But she was a little shocked after hearing his next words.
“I saw a little gul She is my friend She was very cute and she told me that my superhero is my papa when one day I was missing my papa ” He said with a grin while sounding very confident about his words She was totally confused at that moment
But she left her hope of getting anything useful from her son because his words now started to sound like a normal two or three years old
*A little girl? Your friend? That really sounds like a dream, baby * She said with a chuckle but he was still very excited in talking about this little friend
“Yes, mommy! I just rememberedShe is the one who always tells me whenever you are hurtHe said while grinning ear to ear
“Did you see her face?” She asked with a raised eyebrow
“Yes, mommy
“Did you see her in the playground? Did you see her anywhere apart from your dream? She asked while trying one last time to see i f she could make sense of his words
“No, mommy She is only in my dream She is very cute. I will never forget her face When I become a bigger boy. I will find her and be friends with her ” He said with a grin and after hearing that he was actually talking about a dream only
“Okay. Ace. Thank you for telling me, baby She said with a small smile He grinned back
