Chapter 99. Kissing his wounds
“Good evening, everyone!” Athena said with a loud and clear tone while having a bright smile. She was standing on the third floor o f the pack house while looking down at hundreds of pack members who gathered around in the second floor and living room. They all looked up at her with a similar smile as her.
“Good evening, Luna.” The pack house boomed as they all wished her back together. Athena literally has to close her ears to stop her ears from bleeding. The noise was so loud but it was so heartwarming that she chuckled out in happiness.
“I have never seen them wish Dominic so enthusiastically.” Justin joked with a smirk, making Athena, Patricia and Suzanne chuckle. While Nathan smirked back at him.
“He is going to hang you upside down from this railing for stating the obvious truth.” Nathan joked and Justin’s face grimaced thinking how true that was.
“Well, they lose their enthusiasm as soon as they look at the strict face of Dominic but in reality they love him more than anything. ” Patricia said with a beautiful smile and everyone nodded at her.
“That’s so true and I am so happy because of that.” Athena said and they all looked downstairs to see the pack members calmed down once again, waiting for her to speak up. She concentrated back on them.
“You guys will not stop calling me that, will you?” She asked in a teasing tone while chuckling and the whole crowd once again joined her in this.
The scenery was so beautiful. She wished Dominic could witness this. The whole pack is trying to be strong for her and him. She knew that they were being extra cheerful for her, to give her the strength she needed and she appreciated this a lot.
“Why should we stop calling you that, Luna?” One of them shouted from downstairs, his tone was teasing as he pressed on the word ‘Luna’
“Look at this brat.” Nathan commented from behind in an amusing tone.
“You are our, Luna.” One more person joined the previous pack member in teasing her and soon more and more people joined them i n the joke.
“We have the right to call you that.”
“Or is it that you don’t want to be our Luna?”
“Don’t you want our Alpha?”
“Don’t you love him?”
They all keep teasing, making her look at them with widened eyes. She knew they were joking to get a reaction out of it and they were successful in getting it when she blushed hard hearing them which gave them the answers they were looking for.
“Oh my god! Stop your emotional drama. I see it all, people. I am your Luna for a reason.” She said while pretending to be strict, making them grin at her ear to ear. That made her smile as well. They became happy when she called herself their Luna.
“Yes, Luna. We were kidding. We know you love our alpha and you are never going to leave us.” One of them shouted with never ending trust in her tone, making her look at her with widened eyes.
As more and more people joined that woman in the trust list, she felt a huge amount of burden on her shoulder. But she wasn’t going to let that make her feel low or stressed. She was going to use that as her power, as her strength to fight all the challenges.

“I hope to never break your trust.” She said in a shaky tone, afraid of the promise she just made.
She really hopes that she doesn’t have to face a time when she would be forced to break this promise. She would be really heartbroken if that day comes
“We believe in you, Luna” They shouted together, giving her the confidence she needed to believe in herself. After hearing them, she believed that she would be able to keep her promise. She smiled brightly at them again, making them shout in happiness,
“Also, we love to call you Luna.” They were back to teasing her again and they all laughed out loud once again.
“Okay, okay I give up the conversation is never going to end this way.” She said with raised hands to show that she surrendered in front of them. The environment was like this for a few more minutes before they all calmed down and looked up at him with a calmer expression
“How’s Alpha, Luna?” One of the seniors asked in a worried tone, the question worked really well in silencing the house as everyone looked up at her, eagerly waiting to hear good news. The hopeful look on their faces broke her heart as she didn’t have anything to give them to him which could make them the happiest.
“His wounds are healed and he will get better soon I believe. But right now he is being lazy and loving to see me work.” She joked to make the environment lighter again and that worked as everyone chuckled out once again.
“You are making him very proud, Luna.” One of them shouted and everyone, including her friends, nodded at her. She felt very proud seeing the look of pride for her in everyone’s eyes. And the thought of him being proud of her was giving her another level of happiness.
“Thank you, everyone.” She said with a smile.
“Did something happen, Luna?” After a few more minutes, a question came up from the crowd and soon another question joined the worried question
“What’s the reason for this meeting?” One of them asked in a worried tone. She smiled hearing the worried tone and her smile removed the worried look from their faces.
“Nothing happened, don’t worry, everyone. I came here for a general meetup to know if everything is going alright for you or not. Do you have any problems which you need our help to solve?” She said while getting serious suddenly. She was back on her duty and professional mode which her friends admired from behind.
“There’s no problem, Luna. We are all okay.” One of them answered on everyone’s behalf. He was the head caretaker of the pack. His job was to make sure everyone was okay. Hence he could reply so confidently on everyone’s behalf. He was a very trusted man. Hence everyone believed him.
“That’s good to hear. How’s training going on for you all?” Athena moved on to the next question and she was interested in knowing the answer to this.
“It was a little hard at first but now we got used to it.” One of the new warriors said. She recognised her because Athena had seen her struggle on the training track when she went to train with them.
Athena was a great warrior from before. Robert always made all his thieves train hard because he didn’t want them to make him fall into unnecessary trouble by getting caught. So, he made them all train hard so that they could protect themselves in such situations and her being his best thief, he made her train really hard to improve her skills along with making her strong. So, she was truly grateful to him for that.
She shook her head to come out of those thoughts and looked back at them with a hidden smirk. Nathan noticed that and frowned a little but didn’t say anything at that moment.
“Do you guys need a little break from it?” She asked, sounding really concemed while trying hard to hide her smile and that’s when all her friends understood what she was trying to do.
She was actually testing the pack members to see if they were going to take advantage of the offer and take a break from the training. They were in a crucial moment when the training couldn’t be stopped at any cost. So, she wanted to see how much she could trust them when the time comes. But she was very impressed when she heard their response.
“No, Luna. It was our Alpha’s order to train hard. We want him to see that we are following each of his commands when he wakes u p.” The second head trainer said with confidence.
“Does everyone agree with him? Or you all have different thoughts than him. You can tell me freely.” She said with a raised eyebrow, still going on with the acting even though they already passed the test.
“We don’t want to stop the training, Luna!” They all shouted, making her look at them with pride. She smiled at them brightly.
“I am very proud of you guys. Dominic would be very proud as well! Well done!” She encouraged them and they all looked happy after getting praised by their Luna.
“Thank you, Luna.” They all shouted together, once again shaking up the whole mansion.
“This will be the end of this meeting. You can get back to what you were doing. Thank you, everyone.” She said in a dismissing tone while smiling at them.
“Goodnight, Luna.” The second time in less than one minute that they shook the building.
“Goodnight, everyone.” She wished back and kept standing there as everyone started getting back to their previous places. Slowly the whole place got vacant with only a few people walking around who stayed in the pack house.
“You are doing really well everyday ” Suzanne said with a proud look on her face as she walked toward her and hugged her
Athena looked at her with a shy smile before hugging her back. She didn’t pull back from the hug and kept hugging her like a child would hug her mother. She looked at others while keeping her head on Suzanne’s shoulder. She was in the mood of getting pampered at that moment. Everyone chuckled seeing her like that
“You keep surprising us.” Nathan said with a smirk, making her smirk back at him.
“Well, I don’t want Dominic to blame me or anything and say that we didn’t take good care of his pack in his absence.” She said with a small shrug of her shoulders.
“That’s understandable.” Justin said with a chuckle as everyone else agreed with hom “What are you going to do now?” He asked while looking at the hand watch. It was late at night already.
“I am going to call it a day now. I am going home ‘She said as she pulled back from the hug with a sigh Everyone looked at her with a worried look. She looked exhausted but they didn’t say anything They knew she wanted to fight her fights alone
“Okay, Goodnight. They all wished her as she started to walk down the stairs slowly
“Goodnight, everyone’ She mumbled out as she was trying to look for the energy she needed to go home and face the situation there.
