“How could you even think that I am going to misunderstand you for that asshole?! There’s no fault of yours in whatever he did! Why am I going to blame you?!” Dominic asked in shock while looking at her with a deep frown after pulling away from the kiss. He was still cupping her face tightly, not letting her move away from him again. She looked down after hearing him. She felt bad and really guilty. She was getting angry at him for not believing her, for not having trust in her. But at the end moment, it turned out that it was her who didn’t have enough trust in him. She doubted him. But why did he lock her in there then?
“Then why do you hate rogues? They are all not at fault for what some of them did.” She said in a low tone, saving the question for later.
Dominic’s eyes softened hearing her question. He understood that her question was valid as he never gave an explanation on that. Heck, they didn’t get any chance to sit down properly and talk yet. “I don’t hate them all right now, Athena. I know I was blinded by rage and hatred that I almost forgot what my parents had taught me. But the moon goddess knows I have never harmed any innocent rogues, if we put aside what I did to you. I am ready to aplog-….” He couldn’t complete her sentence when she hushed her by putting a finger on his lips, closing his lips.

He immediately shut up and looked at her with widened eyes. His heartbeat rose when he found her eyes fixed on his lips. His throat dried seeing the look on her face which he had never seen before. She leaned a little toward him and kissed her finger over his lips, brushing – his lips in the process. He took a deep breath and waited to see what she was going to do next.
“You don’t have to apologize for that again, Dominic. I know you changed and understood your faults. I am very happy and proud of you that you did so.” She said in her low and melodious tone while looking deep into his eyes.
“I don’t understand, why were you angry at me?” He asked in a hoarse tone, before he could forget this. Because the things her closeness was doing to him was making him go hard down there.
“Why did you lock me up in the basement, Dominic? I thought it was because you thought I was Robert’s daughter. But if that ….” Before she could complete her sentence, he interrupted her.
“Thought? Aren’t you his daughter? But you said you were his daughter…” He trailed off in confusion, unable to connect the dot suddenly.
“No, I am not his daughter. He is not my biological father. He is my foster father who brought me up from childhood till now after my family abandoned me at the age of one. I grew up with hím thinking he was my father until I found out he was not. But the habit has not died yet hence it slipped my mouth that he was my father.” She explained slowly, making his eyes widened at the new piece of information. He had a lot of questions regarding that. But he didn’t ask at that moment,
“I locked you in there to protect you from the attack. While talking to you, I was mind linked that we have been under attack. So, I rushed out from there and told the guard to not to let you out so that you can stay there safely.” He explained and her guilt tripled after hearing him.
