Paul stepped back, pulling his legs out of Melanie’s grip.

“Is there any reason for me to still love you? Barbara is embarrassed to death of you. You are a criminal with mental disorders. You even almost killed our daughter.”

Melanie’s chin twitched. Her hands pounded her chest as if punishing

herself.

“I didn’t mean to, Paul. I wanted to threaten that man. He was trying to get close to our daughter. He even wanted to take Barbara away from me.”

“It wasn’t him who took Barbara from you, but Barbara who no longer wants to be by your side. She’s an adult. She knows what’s better for her life.”

Melanie sighed in disbelief. “You’re defending that bastard?”
