"Feeling scared?" he asked, his collar slightly open, revealing a delicate collarbone and a faint masculine scent. He propped his hands lightly beside her. "If you want me to let you go, it's simple." Her eyelashes quivered slightly as she tried to stay calm, but the panic in her eyes was hard to hide.

A smug smile played on his lips as he pulled out his phone and dialed Dillon's number.

Soon, Dillon rushed into the hospital room carrying a box full of canned peaches.

"You like these, don't you?" He glanced at the cans, then turned to Dillon, "Since she loves them so much, open every single one and let her have her fill."

Dillon looked shocked for a moment but then quickly started opening the cans. The sweet smell of peaches soon filled the room.

Eliza's eyebrows knitted together. She'd just barely escaped death's door and was still filled with relief and exhaustion.
