Eliza couldn't wrap her head around why Aaron would do such a thing. What was he planning to do next? She turned to Casper, hoping to get some answers.

But Casper just scoffed. "Why? Don't you have a mouth? Can't you ask him yourself? Do you think he's special? He's just a freak."

Eliza turned away, unimpressed. "If he's a freak, then Mr. Casper, how are you any better?"

"I'm not better. I'm a despicable scoundrel. Happy now?"

His mood was clouded over, his enthusiasm completely drained. Eliza always managed to kill his joy at the happiest moments. Such a buzzkill.

Eliza glanced at the wall clock. "If you have no further need for me, I'll go and sleep with my son."
