Five days later. Thaddeus called over his secretary – Gordon, after the morning meeting.
“Any knews about llana?”-
Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking out at the Elmsworth scenery, Thaddeus’ tall figure cast a strong oppressive atmosphere.
I’m sorry. Mr. Thaddeus. Nothing so far.”
Gordon looked nervous, wiping the sweat off his forehead. “And, she didn’t return to the nursing home where she used to work after leaving that night. I personally went to her hometown Marlowe City to check, but the address was fake. No family shared the same surname as her.”
“A fake address?” Thaddeus suddenly turned around, his eyes gloomy.
“Yes, I checked with the local registrar office, but I couldn’t find any information about Mrs. Abernathy.” Gordon said. He was used to referring
to llana as “Mrs. Abernathy”.
Thaddeus’ mind was in chaos. What kind of woman had he married? Was she a spy?
“Did you check Cas sius’ identity? She left with him that night.”
Tm sorry, Mr. Thaddeus. If President Ashbourne really wanted to hide her identity, we might not find any clues…”
Thaddeus’ heart rate accelerated, and anger flashed in his eyes.

“Thaddeus, I’m in the Abernathy group lobby. Can you come pick me up? I made some snacks and wanted you to try them.”
Acacia’s voice was sweet, even Gordon felt a tingling sensation just hearing her.
“You’re in the company lobby?” Thaddeus furrowed his brows.
“Yes, Thaddeus. What’s wrong? You don’t want to see me?” Acacia’s sweet voice came through the phone.
*No, I’ll send Gordon down to pick you up.”
After hanging up, Thaddeus’ face became even more gloomy.
His divorce papers with Ilana hadn’t been finalized, and the news of their divorce hadn’t been released. If Acacia came to him directly at this time, it would cause a lot of controversy.
He was not afraid of that, however…
At this moment, his cell phone vibrated again.
Thaddeus looked at the screen, his heart pounding.
“Grandpa.”
“You ignorant boy! Did you take my words as wind?!”

Thaddeus stood in front of his elder, standing tall, while Acacia was stopped outside the door. In Hamilton’s words, a woman like Acacia didn’t deserve to see his honorable face.
“Speak! What’s going on between you and that woman from the Stirling family?” Hamiltion slammed his cane on the ground.
“Dad, calm down…” Frederic tried to pacify Hamiltion, glaring at Thaddeus.
“Grandpa, the three-year term is over.”
Thaddeus’ voice was h oa rse, he said word by word, “You once promised me, just marry Ilana for three years. After three years, whether to continue or divorce, it’s all up to me.”
Hamiltion’s face turned pale as if struck by lightning.
In these three years, llana, the obedient child, had stayed with him every day. Over a thousand days had pa**ed like shooting stars, he hadn’t
realized the term was up!
“Now, I choose to end this marriage and be with the person I truly love. You shouldn’t have any objections. Ilana has already signed the divorce agreement. We’ll process the divorce in the coming days.” Thaddeus said calmly.
“What? You already divorced her?” Hamiltion stood up in shock, his vision turning black, almost falling.
Thaddeus quickly rushed forward to support Hamiltion, but was angrily pushed away.
“Dad! They haven’t officially processed the divorce yet, just signed the agreement. You have a history of stroke, you can’t get too excited!” Frederic hurriedly comforted.
“Why can’t I find a satisfactory daughter-in-law? Why can’t I have a granddaughter-in-law I like?”
Thaddeus stood in place, not knowing what to do. Frederic was also dragged into it.
“I want Ilana! Go get my llana back! Without Ilana, I can’t live peacefully. I want Ilana to be the daughter-in-law of the Abernathy family!” Hamilton was acting like a child, losing control of his emotions.
“Thaddeus, call Ilana now, have her come see your grandpa!” Frederic said in a rush.
