Chapter 1

When I was experiencing morning sickness, Tyrell Klein was playing a game of tying cherry stems

into knots with his female assistant Lucia Kirk at a party.

Even as I vomited until my stomach bled, Tyrell was still with Lucia, leaving me all alone.

On the way home, we got into a car accident.

I had just been lifted onto the stretcher when Tyrell coldly pulled me down, saying, “Get to the hospital on your own!”

After speaking, he lifted the frightened assistant onto a stretcher.

When they arrived at the hospital, everyone was rushing Lucia into the emergency room.

I quietly walked up to the gynecology desk and said, “Hi, I need to schedule an abortion. The baby in my belly… I don’t want it.”

As soon as I changed into surgical attire, Tyrell burst into the room in a fit of anger.

He threw a red string at my face and said, “Lailah Cooley, don’t give me this unlucky thing!”

Tyrell didn’t believe anything else could protect him.

Even the peace amulet I had begged for on my knees a thousand times was sneered at by him and thrown into the fire.

Picking up the red string on my body, I calmly said, “It wasn’t from me.”

Upon hearing this, the man immediately snatched back the red rope and eagerly put it on his wrist.
