His Promise: The Mafia’s Babies by C. Tamika
Chapter 101
Chapter 101
“So how is it?” I asked Christian. I decided to make breakfast and for the first time I did not burn down the house.
“I thought you were going to poison me…but it’s actually edible,” Christian complimented me. Besides. taking care of Siena, he got up every single morning to make me breakfast and cleaned up everything after me because I was a messy person and I felt terrible about it.
I always used to say that I was the one who was taking care of two babies, but it was actually the other way around.
“So it’s good?” I asked for confirmation. “Gina, what do you think? He has to be nice to me because he owes me that, you do not.”
“Right.” Gina smiled. “I’m still alive and I didn’t throw up, so you did a great job. Like a five out of ten.”
“Only a five?” I spoke offended while Christian glared at her. “Gina, I told you we eat every single thing she serves us-even if we feel like throwing up!” He spoke as he playfully poked his finger in her cheek.
“I’m sorry, I don’t like lying to her.” Gina apologized.
“Is your other half not here yet?” Christian asked as he sat down at the kitchen table. It was funny to see how bothered Christian was by my brother and the fact that he was here almost every day, but I was the one who invited him.
Now that I had Beau, I did not want to let go of him.
“No, he isn’t,” I told Christian. “And you better be nice when he gets here.”
The comments he made about Beau got on my nerves. I never said anything about his siblings, so I did not understand why he had so much to complain about mine. Respect had to come from both ways.
“I think we have to talk, you and I…we have to talk.” I sighed. “A talk?” Christian nervously asked. “Why, what’s wrong?”
“Oh, no-nothing with you, don’t worry.” I chuckled. After learning about Dario possibly or rather most likely being an Orlando, I wanted to tell Christian the truth. The last thing I needed was to cause a scene at dinner.
“Good, you’re scaring me,” Christian spoke relieved. “So what is it, what do you want to talk about?”
“Do you want some privacy?” Gina asked, but before she could get up from her chair I pulled her back down and shook my head. “You’re like part of the family nowadays, so you might as well stay.”
“Oh, okay.” Gia mumbled.
“So remember I told you I accidentally flirted with someone?” I began the conversation. “What are you getting at?” Christian shrugged his shoulders and focused his attention elsewhere.
“Yeah, before we go to that dinner with the Orlando’s tomorrow, I have to tell you something.” I spoke with an innocent look on my face. Maybe I was overreacting, maybe he wouldn’t get angry.
“That guy I flirted with, I’m pretty sure his name is Dario Orlando,” I spoke with closed eyes, and waited. for him to yell at me-except he never did.
“How do you know it’s him?” Christian calmly asked. That was it? He wasn’t angry? “I googled him,” I spoke flustered.
“Ah, you googled him.” Christian chuckled. “Funny, and did he know you?”
“I think so yes, I told him my name was Serena Alfonzo and then he had this weird smirk on his face and spoke about faith, so yes, I told him as I prepared myself for another scolding, but also that one never came. “Did he tried to hit on you?” Christian asked.
