“Got it. Thank you so much,” Belinda said warmly. After expressing her gratitude, she rose from her chair and left the office.

As she stepped into the hallway, she spotted Darwin lingering near the door.

“Darwin?” Belinda’s voice carried a hint of surprise. It wasn’t for any particular reason—only that they hadn’t spoken or seen each other in ages.

“Belinda,” Darwin said, his face lighting up with a smile.

After a brief pause, he added, “I’ve been overseas for work recently, swamped with meetings and projects, so I didn’t get a chance to reach out to you. But I’m finally back now.”
