Chapter 331 The Ideal Man

Jonathan and Jeff fell into deep thought, and after what seemed like an eternity, the latter finally broke the silence. “It's not entirely impossible to save Mabel now.”

Needless to say, Jonathan was delighted. “Do you have a plan?”

“If Mabel isn't dead, that'd mean Master Methendriel knows who she is and is keeping her alive on our account. Therefore, I don't think she'd be in grave danger for the present,” Jeff explained. “However, the premise is that you have to give up on rescuing the cacodemon. Tell you what, why don't you return home first? Once Master Methendriel has gotten rid of the cacodemon, I'll hold a bilateral negotiation between our countries. After all, Thymion still relies a lot on us. I'm sure they won't push things too far.”

“Forget it. I'll think of something myself,” replied a grim-faced Jonathan before hanging up the phone.

Well, I don't blame Jeff for coming up with this plan... He has no feelings for the cacodemon, so I can understand why he has no qualms about killing it. However, there's no way I'd agree to this.

After much contemplation, Jonathan finally concluded that the best way of rescuing Mabel was through Vananeru.

F*ck this. I'll do this myself. I'm sure I can resolve this matter without anyone else's help!

Just then, Jeff's call came in again.

As soon as Jonathan answered it, the man on the other end sighed heavily. “The two of you are way too stubborn! Listen... I'll assign Mabel's subordinates in Thymion to you. As for why Mabel and Vananeru had disappeared without a trace, my best guess is that Master Methendriel has used the Realm Shift Spell.”

“What's the Realm Shift Spell?” Jonathan asked curiously.

“It's a spell that allows the user to shift the planes of existence and travel through The Void. It was said to have been written by an ancient Divine Master, and with it, one can find a passage between space, time, magnetic fields, and even particles.”

“Travel through The Void?” Jonathan muttered as he gasped Oh, gosh. The world is getting crazier by the day. I've always thought these things only appeared in fantasy novels and mythological shows, yet here they are in real life!

Seconds later, he furrowed his brows and added, “Since Master Methendriel can travel through The Void, does that mean he'll instantly appear if I attack Vananeru?”

“The Realm Shift Spell can only be used three times because its power is limited. Furthermore, one has to wait three days between each use.”

Jonathan couldn't help but roll his eyes in disbelief. D*mn it. Are we in a game of Heroes Alliance? Is that why there's a long cooldown time after activating a powerful ability? Hmm... That also means I have two days to prepare. There's no point capturing Vananeru within this period since Master Methendriel won't be able to teleport here to rescue her.

“I know what's on your mind,” Jeff suddenly piped up. “You think you have two days to carry out your plan.”

“That's right. It hasn't even been ten hours since Mabel's capture. Doesn't that leave me with two days and one night?”

“Well, there's one thing you may have overlooked.”

“What is it?”

“Activating the Realm Shift Spell requires a large amount of mana. You said both Mabel and Vananeru disappeared into thin air while they were in the car, didn't you? There must be something unusual about Vananeru, then,” Jeff explained.

“Do you think Vananeru could also be a mana expert or Divine Master?”

“I doubt it. Let's not forget that Vananeru is only in her twenties. No matter how naturally gifted she is, it's unlikely that she can cultivate to the level of Divine Master. After all, cultivation isn't something you can speed up by using elixir pills. It depends largely on one's talent and hard work too.”

“Hmm... Could it be that Vananeru has other magical items on her?” Jonathan asked.

For a moment, Jeff was rendered speechless. “Fine. Here's a question for you. If I gave you the Golden Divine Beads, would you be able to use them?”

Thankfully, Jonathan caught the hint immediately.

Ah, how silly of me! The use of any magical item requires mana. Since Vananeru doesn't have any, how would she be able to do so? I could use Emperor of Chanaea's Golden Badge Power previously because it was merely a spell. All I needed to do was recite the chant to activate it.

“So... what's strange about Vananeru?” Jonathan asked.

“Master Methendriel has a power called the Primordial Mitra Technique. He can create a primordial spirit clone by using his spiritual mana to combine the power of Mitra, the power of thoughts, and the power of magnetic particles. I reckon Vananeru must have one of Master Methendriel's clones on her.”

Stunned, Jonathan blurted out, “Is this primordial spirit powerful?”

“Of course. Even I am no match for it.”

“You must have a way to deal with Master Methendriel's primordial spirit, right?” Jonathan queried, his head already hurting from all the new information. This is so tricky.

“If I'm not wrong, that primordial spirit is dormant and won't disturb Vananeru. It will only awaken if it senses that she's in danger,” Jeff stated. “You're going to carry out your plan anyway, so you don't have to be worried about offending Master Methendriel. What you need to worry about, however, is how to stealthily approach Vananeru and not let her see you as a threat. Only then can you cheat Master Methendriel's primordial spirit and capture Vananeru. Once she's in your hands, you'd no longer have to fear any of them.”

Jonathan's eyes instantly lit up. “Understood.”

“Listen. I honestly don't want you to go to that extent,” Jeff said with a sigh. “Master Methendriel is unfathomably powerful. I can't even begin to imagine the horrific consequences if you mess with him.”

“Don't worry. I got this.”

Knowing that Jonathan had made up his mind, Jeff said nothing more.

Not long after the two men had ended their call, Mabel's subordinates contacted Jonathan.

The latter quickly ordered them to track Vananeru's whereabouts before tearing off his mask and revealing his handsome face.

Afterward, Jonathan headed to the mall and splurged almost a hundred thousand on a new outfit and another three hundred thousand on an Omega watch.

It was all thanks to the Rodunst gold card that Jennifer had given him, which was accepted worldwide and allowed him to do anything he needed.

In just two hours, Jonathan had undergone a complete transformation. He had donned a luxury watch, a handmade white collared shirt, tailored black trousers, and exquisite crocodile leather shoes.

Next, he went on to purchase a sapphire ring.

After all, clothes make the man, and Jonathan needed to look his best.

Even though he wasn't extraordinarily handsome, he had a natural charisma and was undeniably easy on the eye.

Needless to say, many young girls passing by began to swoon over him.

Jonathan used to have a reputation as a casanova, so it was only natural for him to be fully prepared before making his move on Vananeru.

After all, there wasn't any man who didn't like beautiful women, just like how no woman would turn away from the ideal man.

Soon after, Jonathan had someone from the Department of National Security secure a Ferrari for him.

Unsurprisingly, the efficient and capable staff settled that in the blink of an eye.

With all his preparations done, Jonathan sat back and patiently waited for nightfall.

Later that day, the Department of National Security contacted him again with information about Vananeru's location. Thankfully, the latter was a bookish university student, so it was easy enough to track her back to Mapleton University.

At seven o'clock that night, darkness had fallen, and the moon shone brightly in the sky.

Many couples at Mapleton University strolled along the campus' lake and whispered sweet nothings to each other.

Several pairs of lovebirds could even be seen making out at the pavilions near the bridge. Love, without a doubt, was in the air.

The atmosphere at the university was utterly delightful, and the lecturers didn't stop their students from dating, either.
