He was scared of her sickness getting worse, he was scared of losing her. Even though she did hurt him like that, she was still his Mom, and that fact can’t be changed. He still had to make sure that she’s fine.

“I’m fine. Mom…” He forced a smile as he held her hand and squeezed it gently.

“I guess it’s stress from work. How are you feeling, hmm?”

“I’m getting better,” She smiled at him warmly, and he slowly nodded.

“It’s Sunday today. Will you spend time with me?” Her pair of brown eyes pierced into his anxiously. The look on her face was evidence that she really wanted to spend time with him, but sadly, Xander couldn’t say the same for himself.
