He will pick you up’ My heart wrenched painfully and tears welled up in my eyes when I read the text had sent to me. I knew there was no point talking him out of it. This was his final decision, and not that there was anything I could do about it, anyway.

The sound of the door opening drew my attention, so I quickly wiped my tears and looked in the direction to find Chloe.

“Ma’am, everything is ready now. The doctor has given me the discharge papers, and Mr. Xander has paid up the hospital bill before he left,” She explained to me, and I slowly nodded.
