Chapter 235 Wishes Do Come True

Table Mountain stood on the outskirts of Aquapolis, infamous for its precarious landscape. Though dangerous, the peak housed a wide space, perfect for racing.

The mountain saw itself visited by hordes of people, especially the younger and richer people who were on a hunt for thrills. They were like sharks drawn to blood.

The car slithered up the winding path.

Maggie was quiet. Too quiet. She rolled the window down and leaned on her seat, spacing out.

As they drove up the mountain, the road lay silent under the cloak of darkness, punctuated only by the wind’s whispers and distant animal calls from the forest.

The night air brushed against Maggie’s skin, leaving a gentle shiver in its wake.

Earlier, lost in a whirlwind of alcohol, Maggie drank without care, blending various concoctions. In this surreal moment, she hovered in a haze, her mind a blend of confusion and clarity.

After another thirty minutes, a spectacular scene unfolded before them. Luxury cars of every kind dotted the landscape, surrounded by scantily clad women, men with bold hair colours, rich individuals, and captivating heiresses.

The dimly lit space glowed with strung lights, while vendors hustled to sell beer and beverages. Crowds. gathered, discussing the race’s prospects and debating over the most captivating women.

Amidst the thumping music, a vivid and lively atmosphere materialised, almost akin to stepping into another realm filled with its own distinct vitality. Maggie had the urge to race a few laps.

She was not a pro behind the wheel because the Camerons mentored her; it was more like she picked up the skill to cover for Sierra.

Sierra might be young, but she had a knack for stirring up trouble, especially when the Camerons have her back. Maggie had been in tight spots where Sierra was hunted down, and try as she might, she couldn’t shield Sierra from harm the first time around.

Whenever she came back from that scrape, Olivia and Ronald would shoot her these pitying, sort of disappointed looks. Maggie would drown in guilt, beating herself up over it. So, she decided to turn things. around, seeking advice and dedicating herself to sharpening her racing skills.

It might’ve been an unorthodox route, but it sure did the trick. Racing on Table Mountain became her thing, often teaming up with Leo for the thrill. Out there, it was all raw and risky, every manoeuver counting on the brink of danger. But with her innate gift, and despite a few knocks, her driving improved significantly.

For a while, she avoided driving in the city, afraid that once she took the wheel, she’d yearn for speed uncontrollably. The rush and unpredictability had become oddly comforting during restless times. But with the Camerons preoccupied and her vision lost because of Sierra’s antics, the chance to drive slipped
