Chapter 1977

Ellen threw herself into Wilbur's arms as she wept. "I hate you, and I love you so much too. You ruined my life but gave me a second chance at it."

All of a sudden, a sharp pain shot through Wilbur's left shoulder. Following that, Ellen let Wilbur go, saying, "I'll remember you forever, Wilbur Penn. Goodbye."

Ellen pushed her mother Lisa as they left, leaving Wilbur standing on the sprawling balcony. The night breeze blew on relentlessly, and Wilbur's chest ached. He understood that Ellen could not move on from Howie's death just like that.

Besides, there was no way things were going to develop between Wilbur and Ellen now. Who was going to want to date the guy who caused her father's demise?

Wilbur returned to his room and took the four dragon cauldrons out. He inspected the carvings on them before putting the second, third, and fourth dragon cauldrons back into his demiplane, leaving only the first dragon cauldron behind.
