Chapter 101
Wilbur was surprised to hear the name. What a coincidence!
Just then, the shop owner and several guests there got a shock as well. Kenji had made quite a name for himself.
The shop owner walked over, bowing to Kenji. “Mr. Lilith! It’s an honor to have you in my shop.”
“Of course it is,” Kenji said haughtily.
The shop owner said, “However, I’m afraid that bidding has always been Octocharm Town’s way of doing things.”
“I said we can do it your way, didn’t 17” Kenji said coldly.
The shop owner nodded with a smile, coming in front of Wilbur “Sir, do you have any objection to this?”
“No.”
Wilbur was just going to follow the rules as he did not care too much.
Just then, the shop owner said, “Alright, then. Everyone here can act as a witness. Let the bidding begin.”

Everyone was excited, crowding over eagerly. After all, this hardly happened anymore.
The crowd sat down, sipping their tea while they waited for the show to start
The shop owner looked around him before saying. “The starting price of this stone will be a hundred and twenty thousand dollars, and each offer will increase the bid by ten thousand dollars. Let’s begin!”
Kenji said at once, “A hundred thirty thousand.”
“One-forty” Wilbur did not hesitate either. The stone seemed pretty dense, so it surely held something precious.
“One-fifty.”
“One-sixty!”
“Two hundred.” Kenji raised the price immediately, then calmly took a sip of his tea
Wilbur paused, before saying, “Two hundred and tea thousand.”
Kenji’s expression darkened. “Two hundred and twenty thousand.”
Wilbur was calm, merely adding ten thousand every time he called out. The price of the rock began to rise.
The crowd broke out into whispers, muttering among themselves.
A while later, Wilbur’s offer went up to two hundred and righty thousand dollars.
Kenji said, “Three hundred thousand!”
The onlookers were getting excited. The price of the rock had reached almost three hundred thousand dollars, which was no
small amount!
On top of that, Kenji was a pretty famous businessman with a net worth of almost fifty million dollars. Meanwhile, Wilbur was just a nobody, yet it was impressive that he had a few hundred thousand dollars to spare to gamble on a rock.
A brief pause Later, Wilbur said slowly, “Three hundred and ten thousand ”
Kenji’s expression darkened. The crowd was also surprised
Wilbur was not going easy on Kenji at all! Was he really that sure that the rock was worth it?
