Chapter 994: Uncle, This Medicine Is for Pregnant Women The medicine was brought over, and the moment Tina caught its scent, she instantly recognized the ingredients, their properties, the symptoms they treated, and how long it would take to work. She even knew what benefits it might bring her.

But she didn't want to drink it.

Tina hated taking medicine-only her mother and Uncle Jared knew this about her.

Her stomach churned as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "Uncle, can I not drink this? Look at me-do I look like someone who's unwell?"

Jared knew her too well. He understood that no matter what he said, she would likely find a way to dismiss the medicine. He could only rely on a higher authority to persuade her.

"Your mother specifically instructed me when we returned. You can't skip this medicine."

Tina froze, narrowing her eyes at him with a double-edged tone. "Uncle, do you trust my medical expertise, or do you trust my mother's words more?"

"I trust myself," Jared replied, his lips pressing into a thin line. For once, his strikingly handsome face showed a faint blush. "The other night, I did lose a bit of control... If I accidentally hurt the baby-Tina, you know what I mean."

Tina was at a loss for words.

That move caught her completely off guard. Jared knew she couldn't refuse him when he softened like this, and now, she was cornered.

Seeing her stay silent, Jared smiled and brought the bowl of medicine closer. Before handing it to her, he raised it to his own lips. "Half of it is enough for the effect. I'll drink half, and you can drink the rest."

Tina froze, watching as Jared, holding the bowl in one hand, tilted it back and drank half without so much as a flinch.

She couldn't help but laugh bitterly. Uncle Jared was really going all out just to make her drink this.

"Uncle, this medicine is for pregnant women, not a poison test. What's the point of you drinking it?"

Jared shook his head, unconcerned. "I asked the pharmacist. These herbs are all nourishing and harmless for ordinary people."

Tina didn't doubt him. She knew that if drinking this medicine could ease even a fraction of her discomfort, Jared wouldn't hesitate in the slightest.

So, what else could she say?

Taking the bowl from Jared, she closed her eyes and downed the rest in one gulp. Jared blinked, surprised.
