Chapter 1020: Interrogating Orion Woodwind

Tina was certain-if her memory served her right, it should have been ten days since she started taking the medication. So why was she still drinking it endlessly? It felt like a bottomless pit.

Jared handed her a glass of water, his expression calm to an almost infuriating degree. Yet, his voice was soothing as always. "You forgot a dose the day we visited your grandfather's house. This is to make up for it."

Tina frowned. "...Uncle, how much of this medicine is left?"

Jared understood her frustration and chuckled softly. "Tomorrow is the last day. Once you're done, we'll go to the hospital for a check-up to see if it worked. We'll also take a look at the baby's development."

Tina's lips twitched. "The baby's less than two months old. It's not even as big as your finger yet."

Jared's dark eyes gleamed as he smiled. "At two months, we should be able to hear the heartbeat. Tina, don't you want to hear the baby's heartbeat?"

Tina's gaze flickered. She couldn't deny it-his words had tempted her.

Half an hour later, on the way to the Havenhart family estate, Tina glanced over the files Jayden had sent her.

Jaxon Havenhart, the current head of the Havenhart family.

An astrologer and chief design engineer with a talent for traditional courtyard architecture. The Havenhart family had once been court architects, but as times changed, the family faded into obscurity, relying solely on skill to maintain their status. Despite their low profile, the Havenhart family's exceptional craftsmanship had earned them the favor of many influential families. One such example was the courtyard of the Warren family estate, which had been designed by Jaxon himself.

Tina understood now. No wonder her grandfather had asked her to bring the letter- there was a deeper connection at play.

When they arrived at the Havenhart estate, Nathan almost thought he was hallucinating. The grand, classical gate and the forested surroundings made it feel as though they had stepped back in time.

Nathan had always thought the Warren family's property was traditional enough, but the Havenhart estate, seamlessly integrated with the surrounding mountains, was devoid of even a trace of modernity.

It was beautiful, yet oddly intimidating-a quiet, indescribable sense of oppression.

Shaking off the feeling, Nathan cleared his head and turned to the two passengers in the back. "Sir, Madam, we've arrived."
