Sienna lifted her face, her expression hollow and defeated. "Shane, we've known each other for years. We practically grew up together. And now, look at what you've done to me."

Her voice trembled. "You're really going to throw me out onto the street? Let everyone in all of Manhattan see me like this? Humiliated and broken? How am I supposed to live after that? You might as well just kill me — you're heartless."

Emma, sobbing, clutched a tissue. “Sienna, you poor thing. How could anyone be so cruel?"

Gary's jaw tightened, his frown deepening into something icy and dangerous. His eyes flickered down to the bruises on Sienna's neck, the evidence clear as day. Anyone would think she'd been abused. If this went as far as the hospital, if the police got involved... There'd be no way to keep it under wraps.

As head of the family, Gary cared about one thing above all: the Nelson family's reputation. The public wouldn't care about the truth-Shane would be ruined.

Gary shot his son a cold look. This couldn't get out. It just couldn't.

But Shane let out a cold laugh, riled up by Sienna's challenge. “You've said all this just because you're scared of the hospital and even more scared of calling the cops. Because nothing actually happened to you."

"I'm not letting you get away with this. Let's go. The truth will speak for itself."
