Dr. Winifred was puzzled. It was her night shift, and she hadn't treated Millie before, so she wasn't familiar with the case.

But the nurse knew all too well. Not just knew, but had been through quite a bit because of Millie.

Every time Millie was admitted, the nursing station would be shrouded in gloom.

"How does that have anything to do with getting a family member's signature? Get on it! We need a signature before we can proceed with the surgery. The baby has no heartbeat, and Millie is hemorrhaging. If we delay any longer, we might not be able to save her." "But, the guy who brought her in just dropped her off and left..."

Dr. Winifred was infuriated. How could a husband be like this!

So what if you're rich? Capable of buying VIP treatment but too busy to stay with your wife while she's bleeding heavily? That's just high society nonsense!
