Chapter 51
Brandon thought Savanna had fallen asleep. Thus, he got close to her and touched her. Then he noticed Savanna trembling. Brandon realized Savanna had been awake all the time. And she didn’t want to see him, so she pretended to be asleep.
Brandon felt hurt.
He wanted to ask her why she didn’t pick up his phone. But he hesitated and then gave up asking this question.
Brandon didn’t want to get this answer from Savanna because Brandon knew the reason well that
Savanna hated him. Thus, he gave up asking.
Brandon withdrew his hand. He then turned to the balcony with sadness and lit a cigarette. Then the balcony started to become smoky.
Brandon didn’t know how many cigarettes he had smoked. He didn’t stop smoking until his lips were numb and his mouth was full of the smell of nicotine.
Brandon then went back into the bedroom again. He looked at Savanna and found she had fallen asleep with a book. After a while, the book was scattered by her side. Brandon stared at Savanna and felt that she looked like a beautiful and sweet angel at this moment.
After that, Brandon went into the bathroom for a shower and changed into his pajamas. Then he lay down next to Savanna. He raised his hand to turn off the lights and then gently wrapped his arms around her waist. His chin was against her warm forehead. It seemed that hugging Savanna made Brandon comfortable and safe. Brandon sighed and fell asleep.
Brandon woke up in the morning and found Savanna had already gotten up.
Brandon could only smell her smell from the quilt.
The thought that Savanna might have left popped into Brandon’s head. Then he got up from bed in a hurry. He strode to the cloakroom and saw Savanna’s clothes hanging on the hanger. The fact that Savanna didn’t leave made Brandon relax.
After washing up, Brandon went downstairs. He looked around and noticed Savanna eating silently at the dining table. His eyes were full of happiness all of a sudden. He then stepped into the dining
room.
Mary saw Brandon. Then she prepared some food for him. Mary whispered, “Mr. Cassel, enjoy your
meal,”
Brandon felt happy about that. He could have breakfast together with Savanna.
He took a sandwich and put ketchup on it. Just as he was about to give Savanna the sandwich, Savanna, who was eating with her head lowered, stood up and said, “I’ve finished.”

Mr. Baker?

Brandon sneered. He asked, “Leo?”
Jim thought for a moment and replied, “I think so. Those gangsters were mercenaries and seemed to know Leo. Besides, Leo had been where Ms. Landis was. Leo borrowed a plane from Dax to go there.”
Jim didn’t dare to hide anything. He told Brandon everything he knew.
Brandon waved his hand to Jim. Jim got his point and then left.
Brandon made a phone call to Ben.
“Brandon, what’s up?”
Ben seemed to be busy. It seemed that Ben was in a noisy place like a bar.
“Do you know Dax?”
“We’ve met a few times.”
Ben replied.
“I want you to make his life a living hell,” Brandon said indifferently.
His words made Ben laugh.
“How did Dax offend you?”
“He lent his plane to Leo a few days ago.”
Brandon said slowly.
“Brandon, are you trying to help Leo?”
Brandon ran a hand through his hair and sneered. “He’s no longer my assistant. You don’t need to treat him as my employee anymore.”
Ben was smart. He understood Brandon’s words.
“Alright. Don’t worry. I can handle it well. Leo and Dax are no match for me.”
Ben laughed with ease.
Savanna tidied up the clothes she had just bought for her baby. Someone called her.
It was Leo.
Savanna picked up the phone call, but no one spoke. Savanna confirmed it was Leo’s number. Then

“Savanna, can I see you?”
Savanna guessed Leo must have something important to tell her.
“Where are you?”
Savanna asked.
“I am at the ticket gate in Area A of the highway station.”
Hearing that, Savanna was shocked, “Where are you going? Are you going back to Philadelphia to take care of your sister? Does your sister get worse?”
Savanna’s questions made Leo sure she cared about him.
It warmed Leo.
“I am not leaving for Philadelphia. I don’t know where else to go either.”
“Wait for me. I’ll be right there.”
After saying that, Savanna hung up the phone and drove to the station in a hurry.
Savanna arrived at the ticket gate soon. But she didn’t find Leo. Then she called Leo. However, he didn’t answer the phone.
