Sleepless all night, Owen was sitting on a bench outside the ward. Dark circles were under his eyes. Matthew had just finished a phone call with his old man and answered a ton of questions. He then came over. “Why are you sitting outside? I saw lunchboxes. Aren’t you going to eat with Hailey?”

Owen replied in a husky voice, “I’m not hungry.”
