A few researchers who happened to be passing by overheard Sheri’s accusations. They speculated wildly among themselves, casting suspicious glances at Norah. Several others hurried to inform Shelton.

Encouraged by the researchers’ reactions, Sheri glared at Norah with an air of superiority. “You thief! I’m sure you’ll confess all your crimes at the police station.”

Norah laughed softly, a mixture of amusement and disdain flickering in her dark, glossy eyes. “Spreading rumors is a criminal offense, ma’am.”

Sheri lifted her chin defiantly and retorted, “I’m not spreading rumors. You are a thief, here to steal from the research…”

Shelton quickly walked over and admonished, “This lady is a distinguished guest of the research institute. Just because you’re ignorant of her status does not give you the right to make baseless accusations about her.”

Shelton was only two steps away when he heard Sheri accusing the Supernatural Doctor of being a thief! Darn it!
